‘Permission’ is a series of original paintings on paper. This series is all about giving myself permission and not suppressing the urge to try neon pinks, oranges and yellows. Colours arriving quickly, all at once, as if they had been waiting to surface. Each piece is like a little landscape, a hilltop shimmering on a scorching sunny day. Painted in Nottingham studio, 2026. Signed on the front.

This is an original painting. It was made with palette knives and brushes, building layers of acrylic on 300 gsm acrylic paper, then varnished. The edges were secured with masking tape while painting, which leaves a clean white border around the image, so the piece has its own natural frame and is ready for mounting or framing as it is. The painted area measures 37 x 25 cm, and the full sheet with its white border is roughly A3 (42 x 29.5 cm). The photographs show the painted area only.
